Cannondale Supersix Evo Black Inc. (2013)

I bought this bike with the Haute Route Triple Crown (23 days, 2700km, 60,000m climbing) in mind and, after successfully completing the event, I give the Cannondale Black Inc a big tick.
Being super-light (sub-7kg when fully loaded with pedals, saddle bag, bike computer, pump) it was the perfect companion for long climbs through the Pyrenees, Alps and Dolomites.
Its race geometry made for sharp and nimble handling on the equally long descents, and the well-designed frame (pencil thin seat stays and narrow seat tube paired with strong chain stays and a rock solid bottom bracket) made for a comfortable ride that was still able to convert effort to forward motion with ample efficiency.
It is not a particularly aero bike, and powerful riders might find the front end a bit too flexy, but in my experience it is the perfect machine for big days with plenty of climbing and descending.
Two gripes: soon after purchase I had to have one of the head tube bearings replaced. My LBS did it on the spot with no questions asked, but it was a disappointing flaw.
Secondly, the rear brake cable has to make a tight bend to fit into the entry point in the head tube. Though this does not noticeably affect brake function, it creates pressure on the steering, meaning the bike tends to veer to one side when riding hands free.
My bike came ENVE tubular wheels which, while super light and responsive, were impractical for day-to-day use.
I swapped them for ENVE SES 3.4s, which make the bike an absolute rocket. It gets up to speed in no time.
For the Haute Route, I rode on Dura-Ace c24 wheels, which performed flawlessly and, thanks to their alloy braking track, were confidence-inspiring when trying to brake on long, wet descents (yes, there were a few).
